I'm tired of , well, all of these auction ads being treated as blogs.
I click over here to read a few blogs and only seem to find the venue jam packed with auction postings. I don't read them and I don't intend to search for something by using them as a starting place. In fact, I have come to detest the method of promoting the auction business so much that I have now associated the particular companies with abuse of priviledge here on the forum.
A blog should be reserved for non-commercial purposes instead of acting like it is a public announcement. I'm not that stupid and neither is anybody else. I think that the stupid person is the one that thinks that this is a great medium for promoting their business interests. Now, it's not as though there isn't a proper method for promotional advertising available here on the forum. And it's free, and searchable, and honorable for the user to take advantage of.
If you are reading this and have Purple, Ritchie, or IQ somewhere in your name, would you kindly consider unpluging our blog forum with your inconsiderate & selfish use for commercial purposes? You are welcome to advertise where it should be, but stop using this for advertising. Please. Pretty please. Thank you. You are destroying an otherwise fun and useful feature here on AgTalk+.

This notion gets to the heart of the difference (admins/owners have indicated an intended difference) between Ag Talk and AT+. Purple Wave is committed to following the policy, whatever it may be. On the blog, we've attempted to keep our entries consistent with the spirit of an auction sale bill/announcement, which commonly includes a fair bit of line listing detail about the assets selling and a story about the scope of and reason for the sale. We've relegated specific asset listings, which dive deeper into individual assets, to the "Dealer" section of the classifieds even though, technically, we are not a dealer. (We are agents of both dealers and farmers who sell in our auctions.) If this is out of whack with the posting policy, or if the policy has changed, we will gladly do our best to comply - we just need to be advised. Thanks for the great site! I agree ... but that is the way the site is set up. I've posted on this a few times ...

but I guess it isn't my sandbox, so I don't get to make up my own rules. Here is what the admins have posted :

This blog should be .........
This blog should eventually be THE place to see and hear about the latest in what's going on in agriculture in your neighborhood and around the world.
What we don't want to see is......
Thank you,
